Busy Little Beaver
Let's see, I was in Adairsville,GA, Gainesville. GA, Summerville, GA and Lylery, GA. Adairsville was a slow start and it was my first three-day show. Friday, was so slow, I was beginning to have my doubts about how good a show this was going to be, despite what other vendors have said. I held out and it did get better. I didn't make huge sales but I did have fun and would go back again. Gainesville, on the other hand, was so disappointing, I don't think that I will go back. It was another three-day show and the forecast said a perfect weekend. I was excited and said, I should do real well at this show. (My first time doing this one). Friday was good. Saturday, I woke up to it pouring down rain. When I got to my booth, I saw some of my totes outside of my tent. I go in my tent and everything that was under my tent was turned over and filled with water. Do you know what it's like to see your hard earned work, go down the drain, literally. There were suds going down the curb because many of soaps were still in their totes. Apparently, it flooded and washed my out from under the tables and tent. I lost a few hundred dollars in product and I was soooo disappointed, that I was ready to pack up and leave right then and there. Well my friend, Mandy and another soapmaker that I had met the day before, talked me into staying. I did and it wasn't too bad but definitely did not make the money expected for a 70,000 show attendance. Then Sunday came and guess what? It started raining again, and I threw my hands up and said forget it. I packed everything up, by myself I might add, and drove 2 1/2 hours home wet from head to toe.
Those two shows made me re-group and re-think my business strategy and whether or not I was going to continue on this journey. I love what I do and I can't see myself not making soap or any of my other products, but there has got to be a better way to get my name/brand out there. So, right now, I am going to finish this year out with my commitment to the other shows and then it is down to business and come up with a new business plan. I am not going to give up, nothing that is worth anything comes easy and I am not a quitter.
With that being said, I will be making more soap and getting ready for the Christmas holidays. I am also planning on having an open house party at my home in December for those last minute gifts you would like to purchase. I am also formulating some new products and narrowing down the fragrances that I will offer in my soaps.
I also want to thank those of you who have supported me in my journey and look forward to a much more successful year next year.

Packaged Soaps for an Order I had.
I have gotten a couple of large orders recently and this was one if the orders and how I wrapped them. I must admit that I am happy with the way they turned out. The packaging matches the soap inside. These are Green Springs and Goldie Dreadlocks. Going to deliver them today and will let you know what she thinks.

Guess Where Else you Can Find Me??
New Products coming your Way
The first is a Dead Sea Mud Bar with Dead Sea Mud and Seaweed. I fragranced it with Sea Glass, which is a nice green fragrance. I am very happy with the way it came out. What is so special about a Dead Sea Mud Soap, you ask, well let me tell you. Many Spas use Dead Sea Mud to cleanse and detoxify your body. This does the same, only you won't get "muddy" so to speak. People have been using Dead Sea Mud for years believing that it will make them look younger, revitalize them and so on. I don't make any medical claims with the soaps that I make, but I will say that you will feel refreshed after using it. I have also put seaweed in here as I thought that it would go along nicely with Mud.
I formulated a beautiful shampoo bar with Olive Oil, Avocado Oil and Beer just to name a few of the ingredients that I used. This didn't orginally start out as a shampoo bar, it was a beer soap. I decided that I would try this one on my hair. I have used cold-processed soap in my hair in the past but they usually left my hair brittle, dry and unmanageable. When I tired this one, it was love at first lather! My hair is manageable, soft, silky and bouncy. I have not used commercial shampoo since and that has been about six months now. I have had family use it and they too have fell in love with my shampoo bar. I was using a Honey Ale fragrance but now I am using a fragrance similar to Herbal Essence. I plan on making some more with other fragrances so you will have a few to choose from. I also made a batch without beer and it is also a good bar, but I personally prefer to use one with beer. the first one pictured is with beer and the second one is without. The lather from this bar is amazing, you can't really tell the difference between it and the lather from a commercial shampoo.
Another one of my favorites is Green Springs, it smells just like Irish Spring, A lovely unisex, fresh clean scent. All I can say is that I love this one!
So I am not only making body soap, but I am also making laundry soap and a stain remover. My laundry soap is shreds from my stain remover so you get the additional benefits from my stain remover in your laundry soap. I have had a stain on one of my night shirts and had tried everything to get it out with no success (It had been on there for months). After I formulated my stain remover, I tried it on that stain. I wet it and rub the stain remover on it and made a paste. I didn't even let it sit very long, before I threw it in the laundry. To my wonderful surprise, the stain was out! Others who have used it have told me that they have gotten stains out that they tried everything else with. Now, I'm not going to say that it will take out every stain you have but it does get out many staiins. You just have to try to it beleive it. With the laundry soap you use 1-2 tablespoons per load. I tend to use a little more but you will be surprised that it does get your clothes clean. It doesn't make a lot of suds; if any at all but it is doing it's job. I not only make the powder laundry detergent, I also make the liquid, but I usually use that for myself :) Who knows, maybe I will offer the liquid is a quart size.
I will be sharing more in the upcoming weeks and hope that you have found this to be informative and insightful to some of the products that I offer to you.

cupcakes, cupcakes everywhere!
I am so loving making cupcake bath Fizzies and soap. When I first started making them, I couldn't get the frosting right. Well, after much practice and tweaking my recipe, I think I have it down pat. The above cupcake Fizzies are Canberry Orange, Margarita lime and hot pink pomergranate. I love making cupcakes so much that I have been trying my hand at real cupcakes. the second two pictures are of some of the real cupcakes that I made recently. The second pic is of my berry lemonade cupcakes and the third pic is of the beer cupcakes that i made. The beer cupcakes were left in for just a couple of minutes too long, so they were not as moist as I would'e liked them to be; but trust me, they went just as fast as the berry lemonade here at home. I had given my son some to take to school and he said that he was not going to take them, they were too good to share. He sure knows how to stroke his mom's ego, lol. The first set of cupcakes that I made a week before were sweet potato, strawberry and chocolate cupcakes. I may have to slow down as we might not be able to walk through the door soon. :)
